imDown — make plans, see who's down
Need a person? Email llechau12@gmail.com and you will get a reply from someone who actually works on the app.
Every plan, chat message, campus post and profile has a report option inside the app — open the “…” menu on the item. Reports reach a human moderator and we aim to act within 24 hours. You can also block anyone from their profile, which removes them from your feed and stops them contacting you.
If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Plans are deleted automatically 24 hours after posting — that is how imDown is meant to work. If two or more people were down, the group chat it created sticks around so you can still sort out the details.
imDown only shows plans from people you are friends with, so a new account starts quiet. Add friends from your contacts or by searching for their username, or post the first plan yourself.
To keep one account per person and to stop anyone claiming a number that is not theirs. The number itself is never stored — only an irreversible hash of it. It is also what lets friends find you in their contacts.
No. Phone numbers are hashed on your device, only the hashes are checked against existing users, and anything that does not match is discarded immediately. Contact sync is optional and the app works without it.
Verify a .edu email address and you get a feed for your whole school. You can post
to it under your name or anonymously. Every campus post is screened automatically before anyone
else sees it.
If your school is not recognised, tell us and we will add it.
Check iOS Settings → imDown → Notifications is allowed. If it is on and they still are not arriving, email us and include roughly when you expected one.
In the app: Profile → Delete account. It is immediate and permanent, and takes your posts, responses, friendships and messages with it. No email required.
